Many of Tom Barr’s customers have a free morning or afternoon on Saturdays‚ so they often drop by the Fiddle Shop, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, to see who is their‚ who is playing‚ and to check out the new banjos‚ fiddles‚ mandolins‚ and guitars that have been added to Barr’s inventory since the last time they visited. Nothing is planned here‚ as there is no “scheduled” jam session. There is no set time for things to start‚ and there is no predetermined number or kind of players. Bluegrass and old-time music dominate the musical fare. Barr’s Fiddle Shop also carries a nice selection of old-time and bluegrass music recordings.
