FloydFest is a three-day outdoor world music festival held near the Floyd County line in the Blue Ridge mountains. The event features a remarkably wide array of musical styles and artists from around the globe–everything from reggae and jazz to African drumming and Celtic-rock. Within this musical tapestry are a few traditional Blue Ridge musicians‚ usually bluegrass and old-time performers. The FloydFest atmosphere also includes crafts‚ workshops‚ food‚ a children’s area‚ and a healing arts area. Camping facilities are free with a ticket purchase (there is an additional fee for RV camping)‚ and free shuttles tie the event to off-site parking areas.

Directions:
To get directly to the Floydfest site from the stoplight in the center of Floyd‚ take Route 221 south (4 miles) to Canning Factory Road. Turn left on Canning Factory Road and go .1 mile to Black Ridge Road. Turn right on Black Ridge Road and go 7 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn left onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and go .5 mile to Route 720, Rock Castle Gorge Road. Turn right onto Route 720 and go 1 mile to the festival site. (Note: Most parking for Floydfest’s major summer event is off-site with shuttles running between the parking areas and the festival. See the Floydfest website for directions to the parking areas.)
