DESCRIPTION:The community of Whitetop has been making syrup for fifty years
 ! It was on March 13\, 1975\, after 18 months of hard work\, that Whitetop
  had its first run of sap\, and the Maple Festival has been a tradition ev
 er since. Come visit the Maple Festival for a family-friendly good time. E
 njoy a pancake meal with genuine maple syrup\, tapped fresh from the secon
 d highest peak in Virginia. Pancakes will be served at the community cente
 r\, all day Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the day\, tapping tours will b
 e offered on Whitetop Mountain\, and local musicians will be playing at th
