The community of Whitetop has been making syrup for fifty years! It was on March 13, 1975, after 18 months of hard work, that Whitetop had its first run of sap, and the Maple Festival has been a tradition ever since. Come visit the Maple Festival for a family-friendly good time. Enjoy a pancake meal with genuine maple syrup, tapped fresh from the second highest peak in Virginia. Pancakes will be served at the community center, all day Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the day, tapping tours will be offered on Whitetop Mountain, and local musicians will be playing at the Fire Hall.
