On the second Saturday in October‚ the streets surrounding the historic 1908 Courthouse square in Independence come alive with a celebration of the colorful leaves of autumn. Held at the height of the fall color season‚ the celebration includes a parade‚ music‚ arts and crafts‚ and best of all‚ the Grand Privy Race. (Yes‚ they race outhouses!).
